About The Lovers Tarot Card

The Lovers card portrays a naked couple standing beneath the angel Raphael, symbolizing divine healing of both body and soul. The angel's presence blesses them, affirming their connection to the Divine.

Set against a lush landscape reminiscent of Eden, the couple faces temptations represented by symbols: behind the woman, an apple tree with a sinuous snake, alluding to sensual distractions from spirituality; behind the man, a fiery tree symbolizing his passionate nature, evoking the zodiac's eternal cycle.

Their gaze directs a journey from physical desire to emotional fulfillment to spiritual enlightenment. The volcanic mountain in the backdrop symbolizes the eruption of passion when the couple unites in full nudity, akin to a primal force of nature.
